An elephant's penis can grow up to 1 meter (about 3 feet) long and is prehensile, meaning it can be manipulated by the elephant. It is normally sheathed but extends for urination and mating, has an S-shape when erect, and can weigh up to 66 pounds. The penis can also be used for other functions, like scratching hard-to-reach places.

마치 팔다리처럼 음경을 잡고 제어할 수 있어 파리를 쫓거나 배를 긁는 데 사용할 수 있으며, 교미 시 필요한 대부분의 움직임을 수행함으로써 음경을 제자리에 안내하여 어려운 교미 작업을 돕기도 합니다.
