Kylie Minogue has revealed that she overcame breast cancer for a second time in 2021, after previously beating the disease in 2005.
“I was able to keep that to myself and go through that year, not like the first time. As part of my routine check-ups in 2021,
I was diagnosed with a second primary breast cancer.
Early detection was very helpful and I am so grateful to be able to say that I am well today” she says tearfully.
The second diagnosis explains why Kylie quit the UK for Australia towards the end of 2021, settling in Melbourne.
She is clear that her parents and siblings have been a lifelong support to her. “I was saved - I really was” she says simply.
She makes the revelation in the third episode of her new Netflix documentary series KYLIE, which launches today (20 May) 🤍

“그 사실을 혼자만 간직한 채 그 해를 지나갈 수 있었어요. 첫 번째 때와는 달랐죠. 2021년 정기 검진의 일환으로 두 번째 원발성 유방암 진단을 받았어요.
조기 발견이 정말 큰 도움이 되었고, 오늘날 제가 건강하다고 말할 수 있다는 것에 너무 감사하고 있어요”라고 그녀는 눈물을 글썽이며 말했다.
두 번째 진단은 왜 카일리가 2021년 말 영국을 떠나 호주로 돌아가 멜버른에 정착했는지를 설명해준다.
그녀는 부모님과 형제자매들이 평생 큰 힘이 되어주었다고 분명히 말했다.
“저는 구원받았어요 — 정말 그랬어요”라고 그녀는 담담하게 말했다.
그녀는 오늘(5월 20일) 공개된 넷플릭스 다큐멘터리 시리즈 《KYLIE》 3화에서 이 사실을 밝혔다.
2021년이면 DISCO 앨범 발매하고 나서 얼마 안지나서였던듯.. 두번째 진단이라 걱정 많았을텐데
내년이면 40주년이고 이제 건강만 하길..!
