쉐이크쉑과 함께 우리나라의 맛을 담은 햄버거를 만들었습니다. 기분 좋은 메밀 향이 나는 햄버거 번에 구운 대파를 이용해 만든 양념을 바르고, 잘 구운 떡갈비와 깻잎, 부추, 표고버섯 등 다양한 우리나라의 채소를 곁들인 ‘헤리티지 떡갈비 쉑’입니다. 한입 베어 물었을 때 입안 가득 느껴지는 재료들의 조화가 기분 좋은 한 끼 식사가 되길 바라는 마음으로 만든 햄버거입니다. 사실 햄버거는 참 어려운 음식인 것 같습니다. 종류도 정말 다양하고 맛있는 햄버거도 많기에, 모두에게 친숙한 음식에서 새로운 경험을 만들어내는 일은 생각보다 많은 도전을 필요로 했는데요. 쉐이크쉑 고유의 뉴욕 감성에 한국적인 맛을 더해 익숙하면서도 새로운 미식 경험을 드리고 싶은 마음을 정성껏 담아냈습니다. 학생 시절 뉴욕 메디슨 스퀘어 파크에 있는 작은 쉑 매장에서 햄버거를 사서 친구와 공원에 앉아 이야기를 나누며 먹었던 즐거운 기억에서 시작된 이번 협업은, 사회에 조금이나마 도움이 되고 싶은 마음도 함께 담았습니다. 햄버거 판매에 따른 로열티 수익금 전액은 취약계층 아이들에게 전달됩니다. 맛있게 (많이) 즐겨 주셔요!!
Shake Shack and I collaborated to create a burger that captures the flavors of Korea. The ‘Heritage Ddeokgalbi Shack’ features a bun with a pleasant buckwheat aroma, spread with a savory sauce made from grilled Daepa(large scallions). It is topped with well-grilled Ddeokgalbi (Traditional Korean beef dish made by finely mincing and seasoning beef, shaping it into a round, flat patty resembling a Ddeok, and grilling it) and a variety of Korean vegetables, including sesame leaves, buchu chives, and pyogo mushrooms. We crafted this burger with the hope that the harmonious blend of ingredients—experienced with every bite—would provide a truly delightful meal experience.
To be honest, creating a hamburger is a truly challenging task. Given the vast variety of types and the abundance of delicious options already out there, crafting a unique experience from a food so familiar to everyone required more effort than one might imagine. We poured our hearts into this project, aiming to offer a culinary experience that feels both familiar and fresh by blending Shake Shack’s signature New York vibe with Korean flavors.
This collaboration was inspired by fond memories from my student days—buying a burger at the small Shake Shack in New York’s Madison Square Park and enjoying it while chatting with a friend in the park—and it also reflects a sincere desire to make a positive impact on society. All royalty proceeds from the sale of these burgers will go to children from vulnerable backgrounds. We hope you enjoy them to the fullest!
