Possible Love: Lee Chang-dong's first movie since Burning in 2018 is one of the best movies i've seen since Burning in 2018. Jeon Do-yeon absolutely IMMENSE in a sprawling drama about a rich filmmaker making a doc about laid-off factory workers

POSSIBLE LOVE: So this is the movie of the year. Impossible to whittle down why to a post, because Lee Chang-dong makes his films far too nuanced & profound for that. But it's the best ensemble work I've seen in any of his films, with a staggering final act going in the pantheon.

POSSIBLE LOVE does what PARASITE only hinted at: takes the Korean class system seriously rather than as a set-up for a great bit of genre fun. Second viewing needed before I commit further. Jeon Do-yeon, however, needs no second viewing. Stellar performance.
