I’m caught up on Vincenzo and wow, I cannot believe that in one of the toughest weeks of my career, I’ve somehow managed to watch 12 episodes of a show where each episode is 1 hour 20 minutes long! I haven’t been this absorbed in any drama for a long time - I have a tendency to just get bored and not finish dramas and usually around episode 8 I start to hit the wall.

I am still SO ENGAGED by this one. Wow, I cannot wait for the next part - cannot believe it’s a full week now. :( :( :(

It just has the perfect level of excitement, action, campy humour, genuine twists, cliff-hangers, and a beautiful slow-burn romance. They are going to combust when they get together! But I’m so glad they’re really drawing it out and keeping it on the back burner. It’s also incredibly satisfying, in 2021, to see the villains be big corporations and corrupt judiciary and police, and the heroes be a band of “ordinary people” who recognise that the only way they can take these enemies on is with the help of the Mafia. It’s obviously an absurd fantasy but it is THE fantasy of the moment and I think that’s one reason why it is so compelling to watch right now. They writers have well-judged the mood.
