아이돌 세대가 바뀌고 외국 시장이 커질수록 가사에 영어 비중이 높아졌다. 이는 영어가 세계에서 가장 폭넓게 쓰이는 언어이기에 외국인들이 리스닝하기에 편하게 작사를 한 것이라고 보는 의견이 많다 

여기서 

k-pop이 한국에서 제작하고 한국 가수가 불렀다고 가사와 음악 베이스는 미국or영국 pop 음악을 토대로 만든 거라 이는 더 이상 k pop이 아닌 그냥 pop음악이라는 의견과....

k-pop은 장르보다는 스타일이 더 돋보이는 거라 누가 봐도 k-pop이라는 스타일이 보여지면(뮤직비디오부터 음악 컨셉,분장,안무 등등) 이는 가사는 상관없이 k-pop이라고 할 수 있다 

라는 의견이 나오고 있음.

이는 원덬이가 친구들과 토론하다가 나온 주장들인데 원덬이는 가사는 모르겠고 후자의 의견이 맞다고 생각함 가사가 어떻든 외국인들은 다들 자국 가수로 안보고 한국 아이돌이라고 인식하기 때문에...

그러나 전자의 의견에 따르면 세계 시장 속에서 음악의 장르도 다 비슷한 유행에 따르고 요즘 아이돌은 다 해외 가수들 벤치마킹한 스타일을 추구하기 때문에 k의 유일한 정체성은 가사뿐인데 그 마저도 사라져가면 k pop은 그냥 한국인이 부르는 pop일뿐 만약에 비틀즈의 예스터데이가 한국인이 불렀으면 그것도 k pop이라고 할 수 있을까 등의 종합 의견이 나옴(예스터데이가 나온 건 그냥 전세계에서 가장 성공한 pop음악이래서 ㅎㅎ)

사실 원덬이는 아이돌에 대해 잘 몰라서 별 생각 없었는데 전자,후자 의견 다 수긍이 감 이에 따라 나름 정보들 찾아봤는데 더쿠들의 의견도 궁금해서 한번 쓱에 올려봄
